On the south side there are mountains Goc, Zeljin, Kopaonik, and Jastrebac. On the east side there are mountains Beljanica, Kucajske Planine, Rtanj and Ozren.

Region includes territory in the municipalities of Trstenik, Rekovac, Varvarin, Jagodina, Cuprija, Paracin, Cicevac, Krusevac, Aleksandrovac, Razanj, and parts of municipalities of Brus and Aleksinac.

The region is located between 43° 21' geographic latitude on north and 44° 07' geographic latitude on south, with altitudes of 200 m to 650 m. Areas where vineyards are grown are located on altitudes from 200 m to 350 m. In Zupa vineyards, they are located on even greater altitudes.

Types of soil of this region are vertisol, fluvisol and euteric cambisol, with rare findings of pseudogley, ranker, sirozem, litosol on slate i and gneiss, and other types of soil. Region is characterized by different exposition of terrain. Vineyards are located mostly on south, south east, and east expositions on medium-steep to gentle slopes.

Topographic - relief characteristics of this region are as follows: on the south side there are mountains Veliki Jastrebac (1130 m) and Mali Jastrebac (946 m); on the west side there are mountains Gledicke Planine (922 m), Goc (1040 m) and Zeljin (1785 m) which belong to Dinara mountains; on the east side there are mountains Kucajske Planine (1284 m) which belong to the group of Carpatho - Balkan mountains, lower mountains Baba (656 m), Smoljinac (652 m) and Mojsinjska Planina (496 m), as well as mountain Bukovik (894 m) which belongs to Rhodope mountains.  Central part of the region is characterized by mountain Juhor (773 m) which does not constitute vineyards. Massifs and slopes of all these mountains,  hilly terrains in the west, south west, and south east part of the region,  are all intersected by river beds. North part of the region is gently hilly with flat terrains, mostly in the valley of the river Morava.

Area close to Velika Morava and area near delta of Zapadna and Juzna Morava has effect on air circulation, which promotes better renewal of carbon dioxide and faster process of photosynthesis,  and also better process of pollination, which all has positive impact on vine.

Region is dominated by forests of common oak, Turkey oak,  and red oak. On higher altitudes there are mountain beech forests, and along the basins of Velika, Juzna, and Zapadna Morava there are misty, flood forests of red oak,  ash,  alder,  poplar, and other.

Next to already mentioned rivers,  in this region there are also smaller rivers Rasina, Osanica, Lugomir, Kalenicka Reka, Zupanjevacka Reka, Belica, Pepeljusa, Riljacka Reka, Vratarska Reka, Grza and Ravanica. Valleys of these rivers,  orchards, and plots with arable crops give the main characteristic of landscape to this region.
