Bela Crkva
Bela Crkva municipality is located in the northwestern part of Serbia, in the extreme southeast of Vojvodina and Banat. It is surrounded by slopes of the Carpathians to the east, Vrsac mountains to the north, and the river Danube to the south. Bela Crkva is a cultural, economic and political center of this area, and it was established in 1717. It was an agricultural center at first, destined for the development of viticulture.
Bela Crkva is one of the few municipalities in Vojvodina where buildings rased at the end of the eighteenth century are preserved. Historical Archives, National Library, Museum, and numerous theaters are all located in Bela Crkva.
A so-called ‘Bela Crkva Carnival’ is held in this town. This event was mentioned for the first time in 1852. Bela Crkva was the city of flowers, fine wines, and well-famous carnival between the two wars.
