Lake Djerdap

Lake Djerdap is located in the northern part of eastern Serbia, about two hundred kilometers from Belgrade. It was created at the end of the last century, when hydropower plant Djerdap I was built. The entire area is made out of beautiful nature, and on the right bank of Danube there is a National Park with the same name. The lake is over 100 kilometers long, and at its widest place it is 8 kilometers wide. Maximum depth reaches 100 meters. The lake has 253 km², of which 163 km² is on the Serbian, and 90 km² on the Romanian side. It is the largest lake in Serbia, and fourth largest in Europe.
