Knic
Knić municipality is located in central Serbia, and belongs to Sumadija district. Municipal Center is located in Knic. There are convincing data that the municipality of Knic-(Gružz) was inhabited in ancient times. The excavations show that there was a large settlement in Grivac field, next to the river port of Gruz, and many tools of stone are found in all parts Knic (Gruza).
It was populated in the latter periods of Hellenic and Roman cultures as well.
Name Borca, as the region of Knic was called, was mentioned for the first time when the Stephen the First Crowned built the monastery Zica, according to written data from the first half of the thirteenth century. In later times, when the front of the Turkish invasion of the Serbian state increasingly moved borders to the north, Knic (Gruza) gained greater importance.
