Kucevo
Kučevo municipality is located in northeastern Serbia. It covers the middle and lower part of the river Pek. In administrative terms it belongs to Branicevo. Municipal Center is the city Kucevo.
At the time of the Romans it was called Guduskum, and represented a major mining center. With the arrival of Slavs in this region, the name Guduskum becomes Kucevo. During the rule of Prince Lazar Kucevo is mentioned as Krusevica, and this name stayed for several centuries. At the time of Prince Milos a word Gornja was added to its name to distinguish it from the village of the same name at the lower flow of Pek. This name will remain until the 1886th, when the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Serbia returns the original name Kucevo. Today, Kucevo is administrative, economic and cultural center of the municipality of Kucevo.
Natural values of this area are: Ceremosnja cave, cave Ravnistarka, Dubocka cave Sevicka cave, Zviska potajnica, mineral water, river Peck, waterfalls and springs, and lakes.
Cultural-historical monuments:
- Kraku Lu Jordan, an unique archeometallurgic center from the Roman period, where from the middle of the III century, and until the end of the fourth century functioned metallurgy of gold, silver, copper and iron.
