Nova Varos
Nova Varos is located in southwestern Serbia. The municipality is located between the mountains of Zlatar, Zlatibor, Murtenica, Javor and Golija. Exceptional natural rarity, vulture whose habitat is in the canyon of the river Uvac is symbol of Nova Varos and Zlatar.
Mounds from the early Stone Age are evidence of prehistoric life in the territory Nova Varos, and there are archaeological remains of the Celts, Illyrians and Romans.In the XII and XIII century, in Nemanjic period, this territory was experiencing rapid growth. Under its present name Nova Varos was first mentioned in the notebook, list of village and district taxpayers of Barc, at the end of the sixteenth century as Skender-Pasha Palanka, named after its founder, the vizie, Skender-Pasha Djenoljaninu or Nova Varos (Jena Kasaba), established to provide roads in the area.

Picnic points near Nova Varos
Mountain Zlatar is unexplored paradise. It is featured by clear lakes surrounded by pine and birch, and has beneficial air-Mediterranean mountain climate. It is located between four extremely clear rivers Lim, Uvac, Milesevka and Bistrica. The entire mountain and these rivers are very attractive to hunters and fishermen. On the river Uvac there are three artificial lakes: Zlatar, Radonjsko lake, and Sjenica lake. All three lakes are very beautiful and suitable for picnics and camping.
