Villages of the Brus municipality
Bruce is a town situated on the eastern slopes of Kopaonik, between Rasina and Grasevacka River, 429 m above the sea level. It is known to be an air spa. Favorable geographical position and proximity of Kopaonik lead to intensive development of tourism in the municipality of Bruce in the last several years. Altitude, many thermo-mineral springs, plenty of woods and water sports facilities with swimming pool lead to the development of mountain, sports, recreation, health, hunting and rural tourism.
Bruce has a rich history, of which numerous cultural and historical monuments were witnesses:
- Lepenac monastery from XV century,
- Remains from Milentija monastery from the XIV century,
- Koznik medieval town,
- Metodje church and sanctuary from III century,
- Church of St. Preobrazenje in Brus from 1836.
Brzece is located at the foothills of Kopaonik, 1070 meters above sea level. It is situated 14 km from the resort. There is a lift (Two-seater) 3000 meters long leading from Brzece to the top of Kopaonik. River Brzecka with several beautiful mills - water mills runs through Brzece, which guests can visit. Near Brzece on the way to Kopaonik, in the national park, is a sanctuary Metodje from III century, the church and geysers.
Third of July on the day of St. Methodius is a holiday in Brzece, and everywhere on Kopaonik. On that day the locals and guests from other areas get together for the very popular great feast ( ‘Sabor’). Tourist center Brzece is 1 km from the village, with several hotels, of which the most representative is hotel ‘Junior’ with 500 beds, soccer field, and pool. Every autumn artistic colony ‘Kopaonik’ is organized in Brzece.
