Wine and health

Greek god Dionysius is said to be the first creator of wine, according to encyclopedias. He traveled the world teaching people how to make wine, with a strong escort, satires and nymphs. The main attribute of Dionysus was Tirzah, a stick wrapped in the vine. Extending the cult of wines, and enjoyment in the glass that it brings, Dionysus found many supporters in Rome, and in its equivalent in Bah. Wine is important in Christianity, so the Christians have a saint patron of growers and winemakers.

Therefore, historical and legendary information about the wine goes back thousands of years. The beginnings of viticulture in this region date back more than a thousand years and is related to Romans. With the arrival in these parts, Romans left us not only rich archaeological heritage but wine too. Roman Emperor Mark Aureliije Probus, born in Sirmium, was the first to plant the vine on the slopes of Fruska Gora. In ancient writings, it is noted that the vineyards in Sirmium were among the most important occupations of people.

The cultivation of the vine continues with the advent of Christianity, but a special development begins during Nemanjic dynasty. Not only the ruler but lords and priests also grew the vine. Dusan's Code regulates the traffic and production of wine around his capital, Prizren, which was marked as the beginning of the geographical origin. With the arrival of Turkish troops in Serbia, the population moved north, and therefore vineyards and centers were moved too. Almost every epic poem testifies the fact that wine was an obligatory companion of many events. In the following centuries, wine production has stagnated, since the Turks destroyed the greater part of the vineyards. This interruption lasted until the liberation in the early nineteenth century when the development of viticulture started again. And so to this day...

Data show that the first wine taproom were opened more than 200 years ago in the territory of the Habsburg Empire. Taproom owners did not just stop at this, but they offered a variety of expanded tourist events which resulted in the final tourism product - "wine road".

Namely, the more ancient nations emphasized its medicinal properties, of course, if used in moderate quantities. Numerous contemporary research shows that wine stimulates the heart, lungs, stomach and liver, reduces stress and slows the aging process. As a good example, French can be taken, known for high production, and consumption of this beverage. French cuisine mainly consists of food that contains a lot of cholesterol, but the French do not get sick of heart diseases more than others. All because of one glass of wine that is enough to reduce the level of fat in blood vessels and, simultaneously, increase the amount of "good cholesterol".

Wine is good for those who wish to regulate their weight because it helps in lowering glucose and insulin. Results of clinical research and statistics show that due to the composition of grapes and wine, one can raise the immune system, and prevent the creation of tumors. Copenhagen study followed 130 000 people in ten years. It was found that patients who drank six glasses of wine a week had a 30-40% lower mortality rate compared to others. Research on the connection between stroke and alcohol has shown that, if consumed in moderation, wine helps in preventing this disease regardless of race.

The largest percentage of content in wine is water (85%), and ethyl alcohol (12%), the number of acids, sugars, carbohydrates, various vitamins, minerals. Wine also contains antioxidants that influence the health and functioning of the lungs. For example, antioxidant activity contained in a glass of red wine is the same as in two cups of tea, five onions, 500 ml of beer, or 20 glasses of apple juice. While the wine contains no fat or cholesterol, it contains calories that come from carbohydrates. The exact content of calories in wine depends on the level of sugar and alcohol that are inside. In one glass of wine, there are about 80 calories, but it is far less compared to other alcoholic beverages (eg, 0:34 l can of beer has 146 calories). We already know that wine consumption is beneficial to health, and to assist in the fight against cholesterol. Wine therapy is used in the service of health and beauty with its antioxidants. These therapies have become a drug and a luxury, and are used around the world. Among the treatments offered by spas and wine centers - you can find bathrooms with barrels of wine, grape seed oil massage, facial and even waxing grapes.
