2.6.1. Vrsac vineyards - Vrsac
Vrsac vineyards are located in north east part of the region, on the slopes of Vrsac Mountains (Protected nature good of Serbia - Area of exceptional characteristics).
It includes parts of the cadastral municipalities of: Veliko Srediste, Gudurica, Markovac, Vrsac, Malo Srediste, Mesic, Jablanka, Socica I, Socica II, Kustilj, Vojvodinci and Straza.
Vineyards do not include forest area, higher slopes and points of the Vrsac Mountains.
Historical way of enjoying the wine from these vineyards goes far into the past, from Dacians, Sarmatians, Romans…, to the highest vineyards of Hungarian empire, and possibly Europe of the 19th century, and today.
