Zagubica

Zagubica municipality is located in Central Serbia, and belongs to Branicevo district. Seat of the municipality is located in Zagubica. Homolje and Zagubica municipality are small geographical area in eastern Serbia, clearly limited by mountain ranges on all sides.


Natural beautes:

Mountain Beljanica is very rugged, but there are meny ravines which are real little oasis in the forest. The mountain has many streams, and there are several smaller rivers, specific forest communities, and scattered shepherds' houses - bacija. In Gornjak gorge smell of the past lingers, as is seen by the excavations from the Roman period, and the cave that once served as a habitat. In the southwestern part of Zagubica valley, near the village Izvarice, Fishermen’s Gorge is located. Fortess Gradac is situated on one cliff.

Cultural-historical monuments:

-Gornjak monastery, founded by Prince Lazar, was built between 1379-1381.

-The oldest monument in the Homolje is Trska Church that, according to one source, comes from the ninth century, while other say from the XII century.
